how long does it take to get approved?

It shouldn't be hard to confirm my IP. I didn't previously see much point in creating an account solely to use the Outer Party forums, but I sent a request ages ago, and again about a month back.

Fair enough, my bad - somehow missed the top line and skipped straight to the big list of things to email. By the sounds of it I shouldn't hold my breath anyway, I just get curious when whole bunches of people email me saying "Blimey, you should see what [x] is saying about you on this forum!" but I'm not allowed to actually read it.

 

They might not want you joining now then, well posting forum content outside the forum and all that would get them a bollocking, and it's terribly bad form.

Hah, fair enough, my mistake, apologies. Seemed an odd coincidence that Bruce was banned for a month the day before you registered, that's all.

In any case you might have some trouble getting approved as there's a no journalists rule.

Hey, I'm not just a journalist. I'm a bona fide developer and producer too, just not doing much of those at this precise moment in time...

Besides, Bruce is just some twat with a blog (and even if he was currently employed as a PR/marketing man, those are supposedly not allowed either), so how does that work?

True, but we can't exclude people who are qualified just because we know they have a grudge against someone on here.
I think we should leave it up to the mods...if they start huge argument threads on here they can be dealt with the same way as any other thread that descends into abuse is dealt with....(We all fold our arms, tut tut a lot and laugh at how childish grown men can be, with an occasional comment or two to fan the flames)

 

I reckon you should award Bruce's account to Stu for the month he's banned.

 

Or simply have alternating monthly bans for both of them so they never have access at the same time?
