About The Chaos Engine

Hi all.
This is the general information for you all.
The Chaos Engine is a non-profit site run by a small group of volunteers. We are all video game industry professionals and of course, are passionate about games. The site is primarily centered around our forums. The direction and content of the site is driven by the needs and suggestions presented by our private forums members.

The site was started in 2003 to answer the need of gaming industry professionals for a forum and meeting place for news and conversation about the industry. There are many public forums on the Internet, but unfortunately most professionals become tired of the public attention they draw. The private forums on The Chaos Engine require that members authenticate their status in the industry before joining. We do however have public forums and we welcome everyone with an interest in games to join and participate. We have a large membership of professionals, many of whom who read and participate in the public forums.

Well it's been reported as spam because of the signature (which I have removed). But there's no links, no connection back to the advertiser. It's like the lowest profile spam ever. I mean, it reads like a real human being who's taken some time to read bits of the site to come up with something relevant, and then tried to insert incredibly subtle advertising. Like there's a trade body for this product that is trying to raise the profile of all suppliers of this mystic substance.

Maybe some kind of search-engine spam? Or he makes unsuspicious posts and then changes the signature?

Most likely trying to get a "not spam" pass to spam at leisure later.

Might I just interject to state that Colgate makes extremely good toothpaste which does wonders for fighting gum disease, bestowing fresh breath and contributing to that healthy white smile?

And now back to our scheduled programming....

Yes, i get this on my forums recently.

They come on with their 1 post that makes them look like a normal user, asks a question (usually their english is their downfall however) and then they come back and use that post, and 10 others, to spam it up.
