Abso-blimin-lutley. What ever other forums you guys want name it and I'dd add it the private forums.

By job titles? Industry topics?

Dunno... would Dev / Programming / QA etc areas actually work?

I'd like to see sections on Programming, Art, Design - not sure about a whole forum for QA but maybe. OT is a good idea. Maybe a Hot Rumours folder seperate from Industry Professional? If the forum really takes off a job section would be interesting too.

I'd wait till the forum gets a lot bigger though - otherwise it'll be a bit like spreading the margarine too thin on the bread and people might stop visiting. Its best to add too few forums and then add more as demand increases than try to second-guess what will work in advance. IMHO.

I kinda like just one big flat forum to encourage participation.

Yeah, dump it all in one place. I was against the Prof moving posts around on FB because all I want is to open one window, scan all the subjects, then check the ones that interest me and ignore the rest. I don't want to have to click-back-click-back through 5 forums with 1 new post in each only to find out none of them interest me.

Just my 2 yen though.

Might be a good idea to put a sticky in the General forum detailing the requirements and procedure to get into this one... Otherwise you're guaranteed to get oodles of 'how do i get into the leet section???? I roxxor at Vice City!!!111'-type questions.

For the most part, I'd like to see everything in one forum, but one exception might be an "... on Company X" forum. If people have something relevant relating to a particular developer/publisher/headhunter/masseuse, post thoughts in a thread for that company. Might be handy for people who are looking at whatever company for whatever reason (boning up on a new publisher, applying for a position at a new company, etc.) If you're trying to find something on someone that isn't there, start a new thread.

Then again, search functions are neat too, so it may be a goofy idea.

That's a pretty cool idea.... it's one re-occuring thing you see a lot of on FB.

You know, I think some of the intelligent stuff we say in the "professional" stuff is worth reading even if you are a troll. How about we let peopel lurk as long as they can't post?

What do people think of a more public "help for newbies" section?
I'm sure most of non-trolls wants to help the rookies out... we all got help some point in our career. What do you guys think?
